What Affects the Cost of Paver Sealing
Sealing is the last step. Most of the work, and most of the price difference between quotes, is the cleaning and joint prep that happens first.
Cleaning and stain removal
Pavers have to be clean and dry before sealing, or the sealer locks the dirt in. Efflorescence, rust or oil needs treating first.
Joint sand
Washing removes some joint sand. Refilling with polymeric sand keeps pavers locked and cuts down on weeds and ants, as ICPI guidance recommends.
Sealer and finish
Natural-look and wet-look sealers differ in material and number of coats. Resealing a well-kept patio costs less than restoring a neglected one.
