How to Clean and Seal Concrete Pavers
Paver patios, pool decks and driveways are popular across Williamson County. They look great for decades if you keep the joints full and the surface sealed.
Order matters
Clean first, remove any efflorescence, let the pavers dry, refill the joints with sand, then seal. Sealing over dirt or haze locks it in permanently.
Polymeric sand
Polymeric sand hardens when wetted, which resists weeds, ants and washout. It must be swept completely off the paver faces before it's activated, or it leaves a haze. Follow the bag's instructions exactly, including the weather window.
How often to reseal
In Middle Tennessee, most sealed pavers need resealing every 3–5 years, sooner on driveways and in full sun. When water stops darkening the pavers evenly and joint sand starts washing out, it's time.
What you can try yourself
- Pull weeds and sweep out loose joint sand.
- Clean with a paver cleaner and rinse.
- Let dry completely before sanding and sealing.
What to avoid
- Sealing new pavers before initial efflorescence has cleared.
- Leaving polymeric sand dust on the surface.
- Pressure washing sand out of the joints.

What customers say
"I used First Class Pressure Cleaning to seal my aggregate driveway and they did a fantastic job. It was in rough shape as we had never sealed it before. Lots of salt damage as well from trying to de-ice the last winter storm. It looks so much better now. They even came back the next day for touch-ups on some areas where the winter salts had worn through to the concrete. Very happy with this company and the work they’ve done!"

"Great job done by Wally & crew for 1st Class Power wash. Front & Back porches along with large patio and lots of stairs. Furniture and planters moved and replaced. Sealant added to protect patio. Will use again!"
Judy B. · Google Review
"Highly recommend! Andrew and his team were great at communicating and worked around rainy weather days to clean and seal our stamped concrete around the pool to ensure the product would successfully seal it. They were on time, friendly, and their communication throughout the process was amazing!"
